But now Calderdale-based Northern Power Garms owner Jules Daniels has announced she is closing her business, six years after creating the brand which has built up a cult following.

“Sadly I am closing Nothern Power Garms,” she has posted. “Not immediately, but a slow close over the next few months.”

She said the decision has not come easily.

“It’s been weighing heavily on my heart for a while now,” she posted.

“With the rising costs of everything, paired with the sheer amount of time it rakes to run a product-based business alongside Volt Studio and raising kids, it’s just all become too much to balance.

“The past six years have been incredible. The community we’ve built, the amazing friends we’ve made, seeing you all rock our tees, we love every single one of you.

“This isn’t happening instantaneously and we will still be continuing with workwear printing moving forward. But this is your heads up that the main shop is winding down.”

Northern Power Garms was started by Jules in 2020 during lockdown. She began producing T-shirts from home with catchy slogans which quickly caught on, and soon she was inundated with orders.

Her following grew further, thanks in part to Radio 1 DJ and I’m a Celebrity star Jordan North, who shared a photo of himself wearing a Northern Power Garms T-shirt on his social media.

At one point, the store also had a shop on Horton Street in Halifax
