A cafe bar opening soon in Halifax town centre is asking to be able to offer customers al fresco dining and drinking.
Loungers UK Ltd has applied to Calderdale Council for a pavement licence for its forthcoming cafe bar in the new Westgate Phase II development.
The “Home-from-home cafe bars” firm, who have hundreds of branches across the country, will be opening their first branch in Halifax in part of the new three-floor site where Horton House used to be, between Union Street and Horton Street.
If the request is approved, the new cafe bar – to be named Rollo Lounge – would be allowed outdoor searing at the front of its premises to serve customers food and drink.

As reported by the Courier, Westgate Phase II – an expansion of Westgate Quarter – should start seeing its first tenants move in over the summer.
It has been created by O&C Management Services, who have transformed the area into a stylish new building for up to 12 units, including a spiral staircase and roof-top terrace space.
