
The coronavirus rolling rate is seven times higher than the national average in some wards in West Yorkshire, latest figures show.
Rates have plummeted across the country as a result of the lockdown and restrictions in place but in some areas, the case rate is still on the rise.
The current rolling rate for England is 66 but Heaton Highgate in Bradford’s rate is 462.3 which is almost seven times higher, according to the government’s data for the seven days to March 3.

Also in Bradford, Frizinghall & Heaton Grove ward has a rate of 420.6 making it the second-highest in West Yorkshire and Brown Royd has the rate of 364.0, the third-highest in the county.
This news comes after schools in England reopened on Monday and the first steps out of lockdown were taken.

, Prime Minister Boris Johnson said that thanks to the “huge national effort to keep kids at home” the spread of coronavirus has been reduced significantly.
He warned the number of patients being admitted to hospital with Covid-19 each day is eight times higher than “the lows of last summer” – it is “more vital than ever” to follow the rules.
