The Piece Hall is bringing the seaside to Calderdale this weekend.
From today until Monday the famous Georgian cloth hall in Halifax is hosting a ‘Sandy Summer Daze’ event.
Organisers have brought in 17 tonnes of sand for the centrepiece- a large beach area in the middle of the courtyard. But don’t get your bucket and spade out just yet- tickets for that part are sold out.
However, those without tickets can still enjoy the event at the Piece Hall, which features traditional seaside fish and chip stalls, ice cream stands and a beach-themed event bar.
There will also be live music from artists and bands who are preparing for the Brodstock Festival in August, and families can enjoy the 40 independent traders who call the Piece Hall home.

On Sunday, The Creation Station pop up family workshop will let families get creative by making colourful fish, using willow, fabric, crepe paper and wool.
Fortunately, the weather forecast is not predicting rain, but even if there’s some drizzle, the Piece Hall promises plenty to do.
A spokesperson for the Piece Hall said: “There’s plenty to see and do at The Piece Hall come rain or shine, so whilst we’re hoping for wall-to-wall sunshine for the whole event, visitors won’t be disappointed if there is a spot of rain.”
