A spin-off series is set to air on Disney+ and will include the original cast members
Film crews have descended on Halifax today to shoot scenes for the hotly anticipated reboot of The Full Monty.
Crews shut Alexandra Street in the centre of Halifax and a mock police scene was put in place outside a building branded ‘Sheffield Job Hub’. It is understood filming will also take place in the town on Friday and Monday (August 8).
The sequel to the worldwide box office hit – which followed a group of unemployed former steelworkers in Sheffield attempting to make a living from a striptease act – is set to air on the streaming platform Disney+. The spin-off series will follow the cast from the film as they reunite 25 years on from the original.

The famous cast will include Robert Carlyle, Mark Addy and Paul Barber and the series has been created by Oscar-winning screenwriter Simon Beaufoy and producer Uberto Pasolini. The series, announced in March, will follow the original characters as they ‘navigate the post-industrial city of Sheffield and society’s crumbling healthcare, education and employment sectors.’
