Officers investigating assault that left police car covered in blood

Officers are investigating an assault in the early hours in Halifax that left a police car covered in blood.

Emergency services were called between 3.45am and 4.10am today, November 23, to Regent Street in Halifax after reports of an assault

West Yorkshire Police have cordoned off the street whilst investigations continue and a police vehicle covered in blood at the front can be seen inside the cordoned off area.

A 21-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of assault and remains in police custody.

The victim a 28 year old man has been taken to hospital with head injuries not believed to be serious.

Cordons still remain in place on Regent Street, Kings Cross Road and Parkinson Lane.
