Man hit in face with ‘blunt weapon’ outside Halifax Domino’s

A man has been seriously hurt after he was hit with a ‘blunt weapon’ opposite a takeaway.

The attack took place opposite a Domino’s pizza shop in Ward’s End, Halifax, at about 10.15pm on Saturday, September 3. The 28-year-old victim was approached by another man and hit in the face with a blunt object.

The victim was taken to hospital with serious facial injuries. A 37-year-old man, arrested on suspicion of assault, has been bailed by police. Calderdale CID would like to speak to the driver of a vehicle who was trying to reverse into a parking space where the two men were standing.

A West Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was seriously assaulted in Halifax.

“Calderdale CID would like to speak to anyone who saw or has information about the incident which took place during the evening of Saturday, September 3, on Southgate opposite a Domino’s pizza restaurant…

“Officers believe that at the time of the offence there was a vehicle trying to reverse into a space that the two males were stood in, and would like to speak to the driver as a potential witness.”
