Five rushed to hospital after Mercedes crashes into parked cars and tree

Five people were rushed to hospital after a Mercedes crashed into parked cars and a tree in Ripponden.

The accident happened on the A58 Halifax Road, near to Glenfield Garage petrol station, at around 6pm on Friday, July 16.

The driver passengers of the black Mercedes A200, a boy aged 14 and two men aged 22 and 23, and two women aged 24, were taken to hospital for treatment.

The three most seriously injured, the 23-year-old man, 24-year-old woman and 14-year-old boy, are continuing to receive treatment at Leeds General Infirmary.

The crash closed the road in both directions for hours, with motorists advised to avoid the area.

West Yorkshire Police are now appealing for information following the crash in Ripponden yesterday.
