Police in Halifax pulled over a driver who had been treating a customer’s Mercedes as his own car for the entire weekend.
He was supposed to be taking it to auction on Monday but spent the past two days driving him and his relatives around.
The driver was stopped in the early hours of Sunday morning and he had two of his nephews in the back seats at the time.
Officers with West Yorkshire Police’s Roads Policing Unit (WYPRPU) said the man had picked the white soft-top up from a customer on Friday.
The plan was that he would take it to a car auction on Monday, but he had taken the opportunity to treat the car as his own for the weekend.
In a tweet, the officer said: “Driver had his nephews in the car & has been driving around in it all weekend when he should have been delivering it to the car auction on Monday for a customer he collected it from on Friday. Vehicle seized and driver reported.”
WYPRPU Team Five seized the car and the driver was reported.
