The traditional Boxing Day fixture between Heavy Woollen rivals Batley Bulldogs and Dewsbury Rams has been cancelled due to Covid-19.
Both clubs have reported multiple cases of the virus, which has resulted in the game being abandoned.
The match is a regular on the rugby league calendar and was set to be one of the first games of the 2022 season, with a number of games set to take place.
However, it has instead become the first game of the new season to fall to Covid after a number of positive cases among both squads.
Rugby league is already feeling the impact of the recent surge in cases across the country. Castleford Tigers are currently shut down due to around 18 positive cases.
However, a number of games will still take place on Boxing Day. Leeds Rhinos will host Wakefield Trinity while another West Yorkshire derby will see Bradford Bulls host Halifax Panthers.
